FOOD LION MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK
#35 Robert Osborne, Virginia Union
(Jr, 6-5 Forward – Richmond, VA)
Richard averaged 18.3 points, scoring 16 points or better in all three of SAU’s games this week to include a game-high 20 points in the Falcons win over Claflin. The 6-4 guard from Durham, NC also totaled five rebounds, five steals, and four assists on the week. Richard shot 61 percent from the field and 77 percent from the free throw line.
OD LION MEN’S DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
#22 Terrence Hunter-Whitfield, Virginia State
(Jr, 6-5 Forward – Chesterfield, VA)
Peebles registered two blocks and two steals along with 11 total rebounds, including eight defensive boards, over two games. The Emporia, VA native had his best performance with 11 points, six rebounds, two blocks, and two steals in VUU’s win over in-state rival Virginia State. Peebles helped the Panthers hold JCSU to just 28 points in their win over the Golden Bulls, their lowest defensive point total since 1946.

#30 Jayden Beloti, Elizabeth City State
(Fr, 6-4 Guard – Apex, NC)
Beloti earns his second straight rookie weekly honor after leading ECSU with 13.5 points and six rebounds over two contests. The 6-4 guard led the Vikings with 18 points and eight rebounds in their conference win over Virginia State. Beloti also tallied four blocks, two assists, and one steal while shooting 53 percent from the field for the week.

#23 Rasheka Simmons, Fayetteville State
(Jr, 5-10 Forward – Greenville, NC)
Simmons averaged 24 points and eight rebounds over two games, including a 27-point performance in FSU’s win over CIAA Northern Division leader Lincoln (PA). The 5-9 forward also posted a double double with 21 points and 11 rebounds in the Broncos win over Southern Division rival and leader Johnson C. Smith. Simmons also shot 58 percent from field while posting five steals, three assists, and a block on the week to help FSU finish with a 2-0 record and remain in the hunt for the regular season division title.

#24 Sireann Pitts, Elizabeth City State
(Jr, 6-1 Forward – Raleigh, NC)
Pitts registered 17 defensive boards, four blocks, and two steals over two games. The 6-1 forward averaged a double double for the week with 10.5 and 11.5 rebounds, including a 19-rebound performance against Shaw, as the Vikings finished with a 2-0 record.

(Fr, 5-11 Guard – Clinton, MD)
Scott averaged 12.3 points over three games, including 13 points against Saint Augustine’s and a team-high 18 points against Savannah State. The Columbia, SC native totaled five steals, four rebounds, and three assists on the week, helping the Panthers to a win over conference foe Livingstone.
